Walnut Hardwood Flooring

Walnut flooring is the perfect choice for creating a sophisticated and distinctive look. Dark by nature, designers often contrast it with light-colored furniture as a way of balancing out the room. Sometimes walnut can take on an almost purplish hue, making it truly unique and beautiful when blended with slightly lighter boards. As a hardwood, it is considered durable but its durability ranks as medium. Consequently, if you expect lots of traffic in this elegant room, beware to protect it more carefully than tougher hardwoods (such as Hickory, for instance).

Though Walnut’s grain typically runs straight, it occasionally presents some wavy lines which look beautiful when properly integrated with the other boards. Always be sure you have a professional installer install your walnut floors.
