Saddle River Project 2017
Here is a project that our New Jersey Floor experts at Floor Town completed that had a Customer looking to transform ‘tired looking’ basement – including bar area, game section and living area – into a sleeker, more ‘present-day’ looking living space. Baroque’s Cottage Creek hardwood was selected to replace the area’s wall-to- wall carpeting and marble tile around the bar. Because the basement was partial on grade and partial below grade, moisture was definitely a concern to FLOOR TOWN’s installation team. The customer had their heart set on wanting to install hardwood and not a Water Proof Luxury Vinyl Wood Look Plank. In order to minimize the customer’s risk of having moisture related issues down the road, however, FLOOR TOWN insured that the product warranty would not be voided when installing in this setting i.e. – below grade. Secondly, as an accredited member of the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA), FLOOR TOWN performed all the necessary moisture testing to insure that the moisture in the concrete slab was within the recommended guidelines for installing hardwood. Finally, FLOOR TOWN’s installers were careful to install a locking floating hardwood using the proper underlayment with an attached moisture barrier. They also made sure the product was properly acclimated to the environment before beginning the installation.Bottom line is FLOOR TOWN insured all the necessary precautions were taken to protect the customer’s investment for years to come.
