Leonia Remodel Project

Another Project where a home in Leonia needed “sprucing up” by t our New Jersey Floor experts at Floor Town. The Home i n Leonia built in the 1900’s hadn’t been ‘spruced up’ since the 1940’s – according to home owner Kitchen cabinets originally built flush with the floor. No room for ‘toe kicks.’ As a result, the luxury grouted vinyl tile that customer selected for kitchen needed to be cut by hand in order to be installed correctly around all of the cabinets. Prior to installation, each quarter round had to be removed, and then re-set once the new flooring was installed. No job for an amateur installer! Original ‘nail down’, 1940’s floor still lay in the restroom. As a result, each tile needed to be removed individually, nail by nail, before installing any new flooring. Master Bedroom Carpet needed to be replaced (along with pad) to provide more of a cushion effect. Replaced old, thread-bare carpeting on staircase with an updated, synthetic carpet made to last. completed including an extensive refinishing process in the Living Room, Dining Room, Study, Den and Center Hall Staircase, including dustless sanding and the application of multiple layers of a darker stain. Kitchen and hallway porcelain floors replaced with Coretec, wood-look luxury vinyl tile. Check out there service review below.

Customer Review

Over the last few months, Floor Town has completed two flooring projects for us. The first was replacing our outdated vinyl tile in our kitchen with beautiful luxury grouted vinyl tile. After that project went so smoothly, we decided to again have Floor Town replace flooring in two rooms plus a hallway in our house, this time using sheet vinyl in one room and carpeting in the other room, hall and stairway. Again, everything was done beautifully, even though our house is over a hundred years old and, as such, has some quirks.

From the beginning it was a pleasant experience when we went to the Floor Town showroom and Michele, our salesperson, greeted us. We looked at possibilities for flooring there and narrowed down our choices. I had an idea of what I wanted, and Michele presented various options. Her ideas were invaluable: For instance, I went in sure that I wanted ceramic tile, but she also suggested the luxury vinyl tile which we now have in our kitchen. It is not hard, cold and subject to cracking, but has the same look as ceramic, and I am grateful for her suggestion.

Then Michele came to our house with the samples we had chosen in the store, and we made the final tile choice. She was patient and knowledgeable, and thus the final result was exactly right. She did the same thing again when we chose flooring for the second carpet and sheet vinyl project, which also resulted in complete satisfaction. In fact, she brought an additional carpet sample to our house besides the ones we had found in the showroom. The carpet from that sample is now the one we have on our floor, because it was perfect for the space.

I also cannot say enough good things about the guys who did the installations. They were not only precise and professional in their work; they were also pleasant and unobtrusive while they were working. From start to finish, it was an excellent experience!
